Octogenarian women Killed during accident in Topchanchi area of Dhanbad

Dhanbad: A 80 year old fish retailer women of Topchanchi area was killed in a road accident late on Tuesday night that took place on National Highway 2, about 35 kilo meters from Dhanbad district headquarters . The incident took place at around 10 pm last night when the women, Chanchala Devi was heading towards her home in Topchanchi on an auto rickshaw, which was hit by a speeding sand and stone chips laden tipper truck from behind. The impact of the accident was such that three persons including Chanchala Devi; two of her co passengers, Shanti Devi and Boti Devi and driver of auto rickshaw were seriously injured.Local residents and passersby informed Topchanchi Police after hearing the screams of the injured passengers after which a team of Topchanchi Police arrived at the site and rushed the injured passengers to Patliputra Medical College and Hospital. Though, the condition of three other injured persons including Shanti Devi, Boti Devi and Damodar Sao is lying serious but Chanchala who received multiple injuries during the accident died during the course of treatment. In another road accident that took place at Dhulludih area of Topchanchi, four persons were injured when the car on which they were travelling dashed one of the side railing of the road after one of its front wheels deflated due to a blast in it.  Injured Tausif Ahmad, who was driving car told police that he was travelling along with the family members to participate in a marriage function but the accident took place last evening at around 7 p.m.
